STL Boudoir Session about Self Love

Jamie came in for a session with her best friends for a fun girls day stl boudoir session a few months ago. I met with them about 3 weeks prior to her session for a consult where we discussed outfits and what she was wanting to get out of her session.

The Consult

This session for Jamie and her friends was all about learning to love themselves as they are. During the consult, we discussed what to wear in depth to flatter each girl as they all had very different body types and styles. To feel comfortable during the actual photography session, it’s so important to wear the right outfits and feel like yourself!

Jamie’s STL Boudoir Session

As I mentioned above, this was a girl’s day session, but during these sessions, each client still gets a full session with me individually. Jamie started in a sporty Victoria’s Secret bra and panty set that matched her style, then we changed into her black lace bralette with strappy black cheeky underwear. This outfit was very flattering for her body type!

Jamie is sporty but girly, which I love about her so much because I can relate! After she was feeling more comfortable, she changed into this off the shoulder white tee with converse. I prefer waiting until the third or fourth outfit for tee shirts or sweaters. By the third outfit, you are usually feeling sexier so the outfit works really well!

black bralette//strappy black cheeky underwear//black stilettos//cream chaise lounge// stl boudoir photography//photo by Boudoir by Tracy Lynn//See more at

Jamie wore a lace bralette and super strappy underwear with black stilettos for her fourth outfit and we ended the session in the white sheets.

Seeing the photos

Jamie and her friends came back to the studio the week following their STL boudoir session for the ordering appointment. After telling me how sore they were the day after their session, we went through the photos one by one. This day was emotional. Each girl was so excited about her photos and couldn’t believe the beautiful woman in the images was actually her. They each learned to love and accept “flaws” as a beautiful part of her body. One of the girls mentioned how much she now loves her stretch marks from pregnancy. She GREW A HUMAN. She deserves those battle scars.

I love this “job”

The results of that ordering session reminded me this is why I chose this career. Last year was a huge change in my life and at one point I could tell I was getting burned out. This ordering session and their STL boudoir session was exactly what I needed at exactly the right time, so I am very thankful for Jamie and her girls.

Have you thought about a boudoir session?

Have you thought about a session for either self love or even for a gift for your man? It’s such a great experience for yourself and even better you will have something to look back through to remember the feeling.

Before Jamie even had her album in her hand, she had already booked her second session with me. She emailed me right after telling me how thankful she was for the session and how obsessed she is with the photos! I can’t wait for her next session!

Wedding Day Timeline//STL

A lot of my clients are brides who’ve recently gotten engaged. By the way, congratulations.  Little known fact, I use to photograph weddings.  I thought it would be good to discuss a wedding day timeline so you kind of have an overview of how the day may go.

wedding day timeline//black lace// implied nude//tan hat//chaise lounge// see more at

First things first.

I recommend having your wedding planner and your wedding photographer help refine your timeline. They will know the time they need and the small details right now, though, you just need an overview of how the day will likely go so you can start making the bigger wedding day decisions.  That’s the purpose of this blog!

wedding day timeline//white lace// implied nude//veil//reflection boudoir photo// see more at

Wedding Day Timeline

Let’s say your ceremony starts at 5:30 during the month of May and it’s a 30 minute ceremony.  You will plan the rest of your wedding day around that start time. This is based on 10 hour wedding day coverage for the photographer.

  • 1:30 Photographer arrives
    • Hair and makeup done and the bride ready to get dressed.
    • Detail shots of the dress, shoes, rings, etc.
  • 2:00 Grooms/ Groomsmen portraits and getting ready photos.
  • 2:30 Bride gets dressed.
    • The bridesmaids are dressed and ready to be in the background of the photos
  • 3:00 Bride and Groom wedding day gift exchange.
  • 3:30 Bridal Portraits
  • 3:45 Bridesmaids Photos
  • 4:00 First Look
  • 4:10 Bride and Groom Photos
  • 4:40-5:15 Wedding Party and Family Photos
  • 5:30 Ceremony
  • 6:15 Cocktail hour
  • 7:00- sunset photos
  • 7:15 Dinner
  • 7:30 Grand entrance and First Dance
  • 7:40 Welcome toasts and dinner
  • 8:30 Bridal Party Toasts
  • 8:45 Parent Dances
  • 9:15 Cake cutting/Bouquet Toss/Garter Toss
  • 9:30 Open Dance Floor
  • 11:30 Grand Exit

Things to Change

Obviously, there are a lot of things that can change in the timeline.  I definitely recommend adding buffer time to be sure you don’t run late throughout the wedding day. Depending on the time of the year, you may need to adjust the time of day as far as sunset photos, and the ceremony.  All of these are things to discuss with your wedding planner and your photographer. They will help you make the best decisions to be sure your day is absolutely perfect!

Valentine’s Day Boudoir Session

I mentioned booking back in early December that Valentine’s day is quickly approaching! If you want to schedule your session with time to gift it to your man, your session needs to be scheduled by January 22, 2019.

The Valentine’s gift for him is also for you!

I want you to understand that although the album that results from this session will ultimately be in his hands, this is a gift for you.  So many of my clients’ lives have changed after having a boudoir session with Boudoir by Tracy Lynn. Here are a few reviews below:

“I just want to say that Tracy totally blew my expectations out of the water with my album. I seriously cannot stop looking at it. It makes me feel so confident and sexy and I can’t wait to give it to my fiancé at our wedding on Saturday.  ❤️❤️❤️”

                                                              – Maddie

P.s. Join my private Facebook group to see Maddie’s husband opening the boudoir album. So cute.

“Hi Tracy,
We are back from our honeymoon! Mark absolutely loved the album. He didn’t know what to expect really and was impressed by how professional they turned out. My new husband loved the different poses and that I looked natural and like myself. He also appreciated the album with the two pictures. It’s currently on his nightstand!
I’m super happy he loved them, but let’s be honest I literally can’t stop going through them! I’m so happy I did the photo shoot and I loved every minute! Hopefully, I’ll be able to do it again someday maybe for a maternity shoot. Thank you so much for your professionalism and for being a genuinely nice person! You made everything so easy and relaxed. I’ve been telling all my friends they need to do it!”

He will love it though. Especially your new found confidence.

I mean what guy wouldn’t want  sexy photos of the woman he loves? It’s seriously the perfect Valentine’s Day gift.

“The morning of my session, my significant other watched me run around the house preparing everything I needed for his birthday gift. On the way to the shoot, he took my hand and told me not to be nervous and that he hopes the photos show me how he sees me every day.

I judge myself harshly and don’t take compliments well, but Tracy made me feel comfortable in my own skin. The outcome was more than I could have asked, and I’ve never felt more beautiful and confident.

The best part of this experience was when the album was given to my boyfriend, he told me that he loved it. The real gift, though, was how it made me feel. He saw the confidence it gave me, and said I was glowing now.

It’s amazing how a photo session can change your whole life. The session inspired me to work towards becoming a personal trainer and a fitness model. All of this is because Tracy gave me confidence through something that wasn’t supposed to be about me at all.

Thank you so much for changing my life and showing me that it’s not about all the little things that I see as flaws. It’s about how beautiful I am as a whole and how it makes me unique.”

                                                             – Heather.

What man doesn’t want photos of his girl in lingerie for Valentine’s Day?  Boudoir photos really make a great Christmas or Valentine’s Day gift! A beautiful, classy album filled with tasteful, yet sexy photos of you will thrill him and skyrocket your confidence level.

What to Wear for your Valentine’s Day Boudoir Session?

Honestly, wear the same thing to your Valentine’s Day session that you would wear for any boudoir session! Props are great, but let’s make this something that could have been taken at any time.

I love bodysuits, off the shoulder sweaters, silk robes, and, of course, make sure you have 1-2 matching lace bra/panty sets.  You cannot go wrong with that look. Heels are a must to lengthen your legs and maybe some thigh highs and a garter set, too.

I love, love, love thigh high socks with off the shoulder tees and lace underwear during the winter.  If you can find this, we will have a great variety of sexy/cozy images for your album!

Session Prep Tips

Check out this blog post for tips to prep for your session! The main thing is to be sure you are drinking plenty of water.  I also recommend a spray tan with Missy at Just Fakin Tans.

Enjoy your holiday eating as well.  I know it may make you self conscious during your photo session, but I can retouch the imperfections so your photos will look like you really do the rest of the year.  Magic. 😉  I am all about enjoying this time of the year.  You can work out and get back to your pre and post holiday diet after the new year.

When to schedule for Valentine’s Day Delivery?

NOW! I’m not kidding.  Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, literally 7 weeks after Christmas.  At the very latest, January 22, 2019 is the last day I could photograph the session in order to get your album back to you in time! And that is really, really pushing it. Schedule now because you need time to prep your outfits, too.

Plus Size Boudoir Outfits//St. Louis, MO

Ashley Morgan from the blog Ashley Morgan: A Life and Style Blog came into the studio a few weeks ago for a photo session to feature some of her favorite plus size boudoir outfits.  She has actually been in the studio before for a session, and she is one of my favorite clients!

This my all time favorite photo from a previous session with Ashley!

Plus Size Boudoir Outfits

Ashley brought several different options to her session, including a couple of swim suits, which looked so cute, two sweaters, and a pair of jeans with a pretty red bra!

The Miraclesuit

I had honestly never heard of the Miraclesuit prior to Ashley’s session.  After seeing how great the two swimsuits helped her curves look, I decided to do some research.  These suits are SO GREAT! Their motto is to make you “feel and look 10 lbs lighter in 10 seconds” which is something everyone wants to achieve!

The suit below is the New Sensations Madero Swimsuit in Black.

plus size boudoir//see more at photo by Boudoir by Tracy Lynn of size boudoir//see more at photo by Boudoir by Tracy Lynn of STL. plus size boudoir//see more at photo by Boudoir by Tracy Lynn of STL.

The one thing I want to mention is that the suits are a bit pricier, but I think we all would agree if the price is worth it, we will splurge! Also, they have a sale page… You could always start there!

This suit below is also by Miraclesuit and is called the So Riche Zip Code Swimsuit in the color Nile. P.S. I love these sunglasses.

Ashley always find the cutest most flattering sweaters. This black one from Express is fitted, and I really love the detail. It really shows off her beautiful shape!

Hallie HAD to jump in on this photo.  She loves to model. 🙂

Mustard color is really in this year.  The cardigan from Charlotte Russe allows us to bring the sweater off the shoulder which brings a bit more sexiness into the photos.  I really love cardigans because they also give you something to do with your hands. 🙂

The last option

Bra and panty sets can be hit or miss with plus size boudoir outfits.  This one was definitely a hit.  It always depends on how flattering the jeans (from Old Navy) are to your figure, which is hard to decide unless you bring several different pairs to the session.  These worked well because they were high waisted but not too high and more fitted. For future reference, loose jeans do not work at all!

The Bra is from Victoria’s Secret!

Some other ideas

Body suits with thongs are probably my go to.  You can find them at Torrid or Forever 21.  Be sure to check out this post for some links to both.

Robes.  Like the cardigans above, they give you something to do with your hands AND are usually more fitted, flowy, and sexy.

High heels.  Be sure they are pumps! They will lengthen your legs!

Boudoir Photography Facebook Group

Everyone has a Facebook profile these days, right?  I have a love/hate relationship with Facebook, but nonetheless I am on it every day! One thing I love about Facebook is my Facebook group, Boudoir by Tracy Lynn-  The Private Group.

If you’ve followed my blog for long at all, you know I think boudoir sessions can change your life and outlook on yourself and your body. The Facebook group has been discussing this topic all month and I love the responses!

Boudoir and Confidence Issues

One of the group members was discussing how she doesn’t feel beautiful and couldn’t see herself doing a session.

Before I go further, I want to mention I don’t check social media super often.  Occasionally, I will go a few days without checking the posts in the group, but everyone is so great about chiming in when needed.

Back to this post I was talking about.  A few of my previous clients took the time to comment about how their session changed their lives.  Not only did they have beautiful photos, but they were able to see themselves completely differently than they did before.

A comment on the post

“I used to feel this way too but then I did a session with Tracy and she makes you feel amazing in your own skin. I’m a mom of 4 and my body is not anywhere near some of the more model types… my pictures turned out absolutely stunning. I was very apprehensive about doing a session because I couldn’t picture myself looking good photographed that way either. After my session she completely changed my way of thinking about how I looked at myself and other women. We can all look beautiful photographed this way because we are all beautiful no matter what shape or size we are.”

outdoor boudoir photo//green lace bodysuit//rocks in creek//laying down pose//see more at photo by Boudoir by Tracy Lynn of STL.

And another…

“No matter what size a woman is, we have all had our struggles. I was anorexic for many many years and still struggle with it at times. It left me with a horrible body image and much self-loathing. At the age of 36, I still couldn’t accept myself and my body….

Then, I found Tracy and I knew that I needed to do something so I could see myself as beautiful as others do. Doing this photo shoot was one of the best things I could have done for myself. Tracy will tell you that I was extremely hard on myself when I saw the photos for the first time. All I saw were the flaws and imperfections. But then she helped me see the beauty in my photos and in myself. Now I am so proud of how I look and how the photos turned out. I show everyone I can! And when I see one of my photos posted on FB or Instagram, it just lights up my day. Take a chance on yourself and know you are beautiful. :)”

More about the group

This specific post was about whether or not you could ever see yourself doing more than one session. So many of my previous clients chimed in and said absolutely! Many have already scheduled their next session because they feel so empowered and so beautiful in their own skin- seriously, my job is amazing.

Not only do we talk about empowerment and confidence, but we also talk about weddings, Netflix, books, wardrobe, tans, makeup and hair, and anything else you can think of! I also host a weekly drawing for a Starbucks gift card! Who doesn’t want that?

The Seasons of Boudoir Photography

There are so many times in one’s life that deserve to be memorialized with a boudoir session. Bridal, maternity, and after the kids, when your body has grown life, are all times you deserve a way to remember each change in your body.  I’ve written before about the traditional anniversary gifts, but I wanted to delve more into the different seasons of boudoir photography  and why each is important and should be remembered!

white high wasited body suit//white-washed jeans//messy curls//dramatic hair and makeup//booty photo//The seasons of boudoir photography//photo by Boudoir by Tracy lynn//see more at

Remember, these are just the times I, personally, feel boudoir sessions are ideal.  I realize life happens, the “ideal” times may be a bit out of order, and that’s okay! If we stick pretty close to this schedule, though, when you are old and gray and thinking back on your life, you will have a volume of albums as a record of these changes your body has been through while you were a busy woman in St. Louis, MO! How cool is that?

Bridal Boudoir Photography

white lace panties//wedding veil///dramatic hair and makeup//booty photo//The seasons of boudoir photography//photo by Boudoir by Tracy lynn//see more at

The majority of my clients are brides, which I absolutely love. This is such a fun, although stressful, time in one’s life. I’m always so happy they trust me with such an important and vulnerable piece of their wedding.

Why is a bridal boudoir photography session such an important season to be photographed?  Let’s be honest here.  Brides are likely in the best shape of their lives.  This is when they have been working out hard in preparation for being in a huge crowd of people. Brides are eating healthy, their hair is long, and their skin is glowing!  It’s the “ideal” time to record a boudoir photography session. But also, who doesn’t was more souvenirs of such a fun and exciting time of your life!?

Maternity Boudoir Photography

maternity boudoir photo//black lace maternity gown//red curly hair//dramatic makeup//The seasons of boudoir photography//photo by Boudoir by Tracy lynn//see more at

Women can create a life, with the help of their significant other of course. What better way to celebrate this miracle than with a boudoir session celebrating their body?  I personally feel that every woman should experience a maternity boudoir session.  Honor the work your body is putting in to create that precious baby you will hold in your arms soon!

The best time I have found for a maternity boudoir session is around 7 months or so. The belly is at that cute round stage, but you can still get around somewhat easily, which will make posing easier!

Five Year Anniversary

white fur rug//black lace thong//striped off the shoulder shirt//booty pic//The seasons of boudoir photography//photo by Boudoir by Tracy lynn//see more at

I have not had kids, but I will tell you at our five year anniversary, my body still looked decent, but had definitely changed from what it was when Cody and I first married.  Whether your body is in better shape than it’s ever been, you have stretch marks from having kids, or you have gained a few pounds, your husband loves you for who you are. This is a time in one’s life that’s completely different from the first bridal boudoir session.  Most women are completely different after five years– and this is a great thing! You and your husband have grown together in this time, and he will love to see this you in a boudoir photography session. Plus you probably haven’t felt as beautiful as you really are since your wedding, so this is a great time to change that!

Seven Year Anniversary

marble sweater//large necklace//curls//red nails//The seasons of boudoir photography//photo by Boudoir by Tracy lynn//see more at

For the seven year anniversary, I think that having a boudoir session in the opposite season as your five year anniversary album is the ideal situation.  What I mean is if you have your five year session in the summer and wear mostly flowery colors and summer outfits, let’s do your seven year anniversary in the winter and wear more warmer winter outfits in cooler colors!

I think this anniversary is more for you than for your husband but rest assured he will appreciate it! This is a great time to remind yourself that you are beautiful and deserve the pampering.  You are more than just a wife and a mom. You are a woman, too!

Ten Year Anniversary

white sheer curtain//black lace bralette and thong//bedroom boudoir photo//The seasons of boudoir photography//photo by Boudoir by Tracy lynn//see more at

The ten year anniversary is a big anniversary overall. This is a great anniversary gift that he will obviously love. It’s not exactly the “traditional anniversary gift“- that’s tin/aluminum. HUH?!  What would you even get that’s tin or aluminum? A barn? Anyway, this is way better for you and for him than the traditional gift.

This is also the time when you should go all out for your session.  All the new lingerie, the fur, the jewelry, new shoes- all things he hasn’t ever seen before! He will love seeing you in this new light and you will feel like a new woman during the session and when you see the album!  You will be a completely different person ten years after your wedding and we need to be sure we catch the new you!

Fifteen Year Anniversary

white button up// thigh high black socks//black bra//cream chaise lounge//The seasons of boudoir photography//photo by Boudoir by Tracy lynn//see more at

At this point, it may have been five years since your last boudoir session.  A lot of changes happen in five years to your body.  I don’t think that is a bad thing though.  I want to embrace your curves and show you that the changes are a beautiful thing.  This is the perfect time to update your boudoir photos! Besides, the clothing styles will have changed, or your style in general as you age.

Twenty Year Anniversary

gray sweater off the shoulder//gray knee high socks//long hair// boudoir session as you age//The seasons of boudoir photography//photo by Boudoir by Tracy lynn//see more at

Your twenty year anniversary is possibly more important than the rest! You have likely raised a family (or are just finishing up), you have your life together, and you and your husband may be relearning how to be together without your kids! Use this season in your life to have a boudoir session photographed. It will help you remember how beautiful you are, and give you confidence in yourself.  It will help you remember that you are a woman and deserve to feel important.  Plus your husband will love it!

I may have stopped listing anniversaries here, but I don’t think that this is the last time you should do a boudoir session! You should continue to have a boudoir session photographed every three to five years, just to continue to memorialize your growth and maturity throughout your years.  All seasons of life are beautiful! Let’s celebrate it!

Other Seasons of Boudoir Photography

Some other times in your life that deserve to be remembered with a boudoir photography session could be a recent divorce or break-up, weight loss, fitness competitions, a confidence boosting session, or simply because you want to. My clients will all tell you that the session ends up being more for you than for whom you are gifting it!

Like I said before, I think if you take the time to have your session photographed at most of these times in your life( I realize it may not happen every time), you will really appreciate this as you get older.  Your daughters, granddaughters, great-granddaughters will, especially, love looking through the volume of boudoir albums, I promise! And we can keep any implied nudes out of those albums 😉

I would love for you to join me over on Instagram and in my Facebook group!  Please be sure to join my email list as well.  You will always be the first to hear about special offers and sales there!

Bridal Boudoir Photography

Brides are always looking for the perfect gift to give their groom.  More and more are trending towards a bridal boudoir album.  I personally think this is a great idea in this time in your life. Why?  Keep reading.

Bridal Boudoir– A gift for you AND for him.

I say this one a lot, but honestly, a bridal boudoir photography session is a gift for him as much as it is a gift for you.  You’re in a seriously stressful time in your life.  So much wedding planning is going on.  Dealing with your soon to be in-laws who don’t see things the way you do may be keeping you up at night.  So many decisions need to be made now and you only have so much time to get those invitations mailed out.  Your dress (try Ultimate Bride) needs to be altered, your awesome wedding planner( Megan Rusch Soirees is seriously good) has a few more questions, and your makeup artist (check out Savanah Summer Beauty) is ready to book your trial. A bridal boudoir session is the perfect excuse to put your phone in “do not disturb” mode for a couple of hours 😉

Celebrate You

A bridal boudoir session is a day to celebrate you.  You get to take the day to feel beautiful and pampered, sexy and like the most important person in the room. It’s empowering and it preps you for the amazingness of your wedding, the day you are part of the most important couple in the room.

He Will LOVE It

By the way, your groom will LOVE the gift.  Why wouldn’t he?  The woman he finds sexiest in the entire world gave him an album of herself in lingerie, his clothes, or some [implied] nudes. I know he already thinks he is the luckiest man in the world on his wedding day. And the album will be the cherry on top! My client, Liz (featured in this blog post), gave her fiancé his bridal boudoir album on the wedding day.  See his reaction below.

New Lingerie & Clothes

A lot of my clients tell me that their bridesmaids get them lingerie at the bachelorette party/bridal shower.  Perfect timing to wear it for your bridal boudoir session! This really is just another excuse to go shopping.  Besides, have you seen this cute bodysuit on Amazon?  If you need more “what to wear” suggestions, be sure to check out parts one, two, and three of my What to Wear to your Boudoir Session series on the blog.

More Reasons

Let’s be honest.  You are in the best shape of your life now.  Wedding shape is most likely the BEST shape you will ever be in.  All eyes will be on you that day. You’ve been working super hard to stay in/get in shape. You need to remember it.  A bridal boudoir session is the best time to honor that hard work. You will get to look back on that forever! I seriously wish I had an album like this to remember what I looked like 25 pounds lighter!

One more thing, right now you may not think this will be cool for your grand daughter to see one day. I want to tell you when I see photos from when my grandmothers were younger, it really touches my heart.  The images we take at your session will show no more than what your bathing suit would show(with some exceptions when requested).  Your grand daughter will seriously appreciate these when you’re 80.

Also get the album for the reason in this blog post.

Great question.  Be sure to book your session with a MINIMUM of 2 months to spare, so contact me with a 3-4 month window. I am booking about 4-6 weeks out at the moment, so the more time the better.   This allows time for retouching and ordering your custom album without the rush fee.

I really can’t wait to photograph your bridal boudoir session! Get in touch with me to book the most empowering day of your life. 🙂

St Louis Boudoir Photography | Ali

The strength of a woman can’t be measured by her workout routine. It’s not measured by how heavy the laundry basket she carries is; nor is it based on how many kids she wrestles to cook for, clothe and get ready on a weekday morning. While all of these are things Ali does do, they’re not true measures of how strong she is. Perseverance, fierce love, and devotion are the true signs of her strength. This is a St Louis Boudoir photography client I’ll never forget. Her story is captivating and the results of the shoot are what keep me loving the boudoir photography business!

About Ali

Ali is a single mom who works day-in and day-out to support, take care of, and love her family with all she has. She’s a hard-worker from O’Fallon IL and is only in her thirties. But even at her young age, she felt like she was getting a little burnt out. The wear and tear of day-to-day life can be rough on anyone; but when you add kids to the mix, life gets really tough. Through sheer willpower and endurance, Ali has tirelessly kept on and persevered.

At a certain point, though, she lost any and all focus on self-care and didn’t ever get any “Ali time”. She knew she needed a day that was all about her. In order to take care of others, you need to have some time where you can take care of yourself; even spoil yourself every now and again! Ali contacted me to book her St Louis boudoir photography session to find confidence in herself again. She needed that extra boost to rejuvenate and restore that amazing strength she possessed.

The Shoot

Ali met me at my St Louis boudoir photography studio, anxious and excited to get started. As always, with my clients, we began by getting her relaxed and giving her some much-deserved pampering. I found out that a few days before, she had received Dysport injections at Pure 111. She confessed she never thought this type of skin-care was for “a person like her”… but it was so cool she did it! To really put yourself out there and do something out of your comfort zone is awesome.

The results were incredible, as her beauty was radiant throughout the photo shoot. Her fair skin shone gorgeously as the lighting hit it perfectly. Her alluring curves were exciting to shoot as we played with different poses and looks. As an avid John Mayer lover, we had a little fun with the shoot as she chose to wear one of his shirts as an outfit. She was sexy as could be. Slowly, I saw a girl who came warn, tired, and unsure of herself blossom into a strong and powerful woman right before my eyes.

The Aftermath

Ali left her St Louis boudoir photography shoot feeling refreshed and carrying a new attitude. Her self-confidence was restored and she learned this: sometimes mama’s gotta put herself first! Later, at the ordering session, we were looking through her breathtaking boudoir photos. Tears of joy welled in her eyes as she saw the photos. The persevering, devoted, hard-working woman she truly is translated wonderfully in her pictures. Ali is a strong woman in so many ways; after this photo shoot she is now more confident and sure of herself than she has been in a long time. Ali is a force to behold and I’m so glad I got to be her boudoir photographer.

Ali later contacted me to give a review of her experience. Here is what she had to say:

“After my initial meeting with Tracy, I KNEW she would be the photographer I would chose for my boudoir photo session. Tracy has a calm, reassuring aura about her that instantly put me at ease. Not only does Tracy produce beautiful work, she personifies professionalism. I am extremely grateful for Tracy and her talent- she captured me in ways I had never seen myself before-and it has done wonders for my self confidence. After my photo shoot with Tracy, I left her studio feeling BEAUTIFUL AND CONFIDENT- two words that I never thought I’d use to describe myself. Not only do I have a BEAUTIFUL album and wall portraits to document this chapter of my life, I also made a friend:)”

I’m so grateful to be your friend, Ali!

Keely’s Session– Different Boudoir Looks

Meet Keely

I’m beyond thrilled to share with you my recent session with Keely. While Keely could be a model, she’s a nurse from St. Louis. They say not all superheros wear capes, and in Keely’s case, she’s in scrubs working long hours caring for infants in the NICU. By the end of her shift, she may not be feeling so glamorous– which is why I’m so glad she could treat herself to a boudoir session with me! Working with Keely was so fun and I’m excited to share her different boudoir looks with you!

Prepping for the Session

Keely came to me so that she could gift herself some pampering and gorgeous photos– she also had the added bonus of a nice gift for her boyfriend. My friends from the Blowout Bar came to the studio to give Keely the star treatment of gorgeous curls and flawless makeup that highlight her beauty. And no boudoir session is complete without the wardrobe! There’s so much more than just lingerie to bring to a session (but we definitely have some sexy shots with lingerie, too!)

Comfy Meets Sexy

While lingerie is a great staple for boudoir photos, sessions are certainly not limited to only lingerie shots. This is where I love to get creative with my clients piece together sexy but cozy looks. I especially love topping the look off with a feminine touch. Keely opted for the relaxed, off the shoulder sweater in a neutral tone. A pair of cheeky, lacy panties in a seafoam and mint color make the perfect contrast to perfect this boudoir look. I love how the light drapes over her bare shoulders to complement her look.

Tried and True– Calvin Klein’s

I am a big believer of the classic, tried and true Calvin Klein lingerie. You just can’t go wrong with it. Even though it was really popular in the 90s, there’s a timeless quality with this casual look. Keely completed her Calvin look with a soft, grey t-shirt. While a t-shirt may seem very modest for a boudoir shoot, with the right posing and a sexy pair of Calvin Klein underwear, a t-shirt can actually work well! The simplicity of this outfit don’t distract from Keely’s beauty and I posed the photo so that we can see her gorgeous hair and makeup as well as her natural beauty.

Jeans & Lingerie

They say less is more but I’m loving how this shot turned out with jeans– one of my favorites of the different boudoir looks. The looks becomes more casual for sure but the jeans, also with neutral and matching bra and heels, shift the focus a bit. There’s definitely a bit more nuanced appeal and I love how the gaze goes to the details like Kaylee’s tattoos and gorgeous physique. And it’s key to have the jeans open so there isn’t any pinching but also so that the details of a nice lace panty can peak through.
