Boudoir Photo Session: 8 Questions

I love the “Ask me anything” feature on Instagram stories. A few months ago, I asked, “What do you want to know about a boudoir photo session?” and got so many questions. I answered them at the time, but I thought today would be a good day to revisit that question.

Quickly though, I want to apologize for something.

Sometimes I forget when I do the question thing and I go about my day, forgetting about social media because social media is never my priority. Then, I totally leave people hanging. I’ve done that multiple times, and I want to take this time to apologize.

I’m sorry.

Great, that’s off my chest. So, what questions were asked about a boudoir session?

  • Who will see your photos?
  • How far in advance to book your boudoir session?
  • The average age of clients?
  • I have curves. Will this be an issue?
  • Will you need to know how to pose for the boudoir session or will I help?
  • What should I wear?
  • Would I rather shoot a curvey girl or skinny?
  • How do I make a modest client feel comfortable, especially at the first boudoir session?

I’ll answer these today.

Who will see your photos?

This is totally up to you.

Do you want them to be shared on social media? Would you rather keep them private for just you and your man? Maybe it’s best for your job(or future jobs) that they aren’t shared?

These are your photos. I’ll respect whatever you choose!

Your photos will never be shared unless you specifically ask me, and I won’t ask to use them in my portfolio. Find out all about my privacy policy for boudoir sessions here.

How far in advance to book your boudoir photo session?

I do have a super quick turn around, but I also stay booked about 1 month out.

Contacting me to set up your consult about 3 months in advance is ideal so we have plenty of time to photograph your boudoir session. This way you’ll definitely have your album in your hands when you need it.

Need a quicker turnaround? Email me at hello@boudoirbytracylynn.com and I’ll see what I can do.

Average age of clients?

The majority of my clients are brides, so the average age is around 25-30.

Don’t let that scare you though. I have several clients who are 35+ and usually at least one a month who is 50+.

I promise, no matter your age, I can show you how beautiful you are just as you are.

You have curves. Will this be an issue?

You can be sexy and feel good in your skin, no matter what size you are.” -Ashley Graham

You can ask most of my clients… if you have curves, I know how to flatter your body.

Women are supposed to have curves!

I’ve been specially trained for all body types, so you have NOTHING to worry about.

An important thing to note with curves though is planning what to wear will be important. It’s easier to flatter your curves during your boudoir photo session if your outfits fit well! Check out this blog post for outfit ideas for curvy women.

Will you need to know how to pose for the boudoir photo session or will I help?

I will pose you from head to toe, including your expression. Posing and lighting are my specialty!

The only thing you need to worry about is bringing the best possible outfits and pre-session prep such as spray tans, mani/pedi, and drinking a ton of water so your skin will glow.

What should you wear?

Oh my gosh, I have so much information on this topic.

Definitely bring a bodysuit with thong or cheeky booty, 3-4 bra and panty sets(the underwear should be thongs or cheeky and one size larger than you normally wear), and an off the shoulder sweater, your man’s button up shirt, or maybe a tank top.

“I think there’s something incredibly sexy about a woman wearing her boyfriend’s T-shirt and underwear.” -Calvin Klein

Super high heels are important as well and maybe grab a pair of these knit socks from my Amazon store.

Here are a few of my blogs you can check out with more in depth detail about this topic for boudoir sessions.

Would I rather shoot a curvey girl or skinny?

The generic answer would be I love to photograph all body types, right?

It’s true though. Any body-type can look feminine and beautiful. I love that I get to show each woman that comes into my studio how gorgeous they are through great posing and lighting.

Curves are beautiful, but so are the super-thin body types and the average-sized woman. Each has its challenges, but it’s so much fun to be able to bring out the beauty in every woman.

How do you make a modest client feel comfortable, especially at the first boudoir photo session?

First, mimosas.

Then, we get to know each other a bit while going through your outfit options. At that point, we make a plan for the rest of your boudoir session.

I’ve mentioned before I have “Ice-breaker” poses that I start every session with. These poses look great on every body type and are meant to get you comfortable super quickly.

After we get through those poses, most women completely trust me and we’re able to get through the rest of the session really easily and create BEAUTIFUL photos.

I hope going through those question and answers helped you feel more comfortable about a potential boudoir session with Boudoir by Tracy Lynn.

Your comfort during the session is my main priority. I’ll help you look and feel gorgeous through beautiful posing and lighting so that you get the album of your dreams!

STL Wedding: The Perfect Groom’s Gift

Boudoir photography is trending in the STL wedding scene yet many people aren’t exactly sure what boudoir photography is. It’s is essentially all about you, feeling and looking stunning and sexy while cultivating some fierce confidence!

While boudoir is really whatever you want it to be, bridal boudoir is for brides who want photographs of themselves in lingerie for their groom at what will most likely be the time at which you are your most beautiful and glamorous.

Albums are the usual way to gift the photos and grooms love this.

Once you decide that bridal boudoir is for you, here are a few tips and tricks that will get you the best boudoir photos for your STL wedding gift for your groom.

Blog post: stl wedding: the perfect groom's gift by Boudoir by Tracy Lynn// boudoir pose laying on messy bed//See more at boudoirbytracylynn.com

Prepping for your STL wedding bridal boudoir session

As far as when to schedule your bridal boudoir session, I advise that brides book their session about 2-3 months prior to your wedding at the latest. This not only gives plenty of time for retouching and ordering the album, but it will also ensure that your album is delivered and ready for your groom come your big day.

Blog post: stl wedding: the perfect groom's gift by Boudoir by Tracy Lynn// boudoir pose laying on messy bed//louboutin heels//See more at boudoirbytracylynn.com

What to wear

For your boudoir outfits, bring more than enough along with you. Along with quintessential bridal look of the white lace bra and panty set, bring along a white bodysuit- really gorgeous and on-trend.

A slightly more subtle but sexy outfit that brides love is a cute sweater paired with lace underwear and tall knit socks. Be sure to also bring something that is sentimental and unique to your man with an added feminine twist, perhaps his button-down oxford paired with black lace lingerie.

There are so many different combinations that can look amazing; just make sure that you go one size up so everything lays perfectly and nothing is too snug. You can find more information on fitting your outfits here.

Accessories for your STL wedding groom’s gift

Accessories are a really fun way to glam up your boudoir photos. Definitely bring along your engagement ring and maybe even your veil to add to one of your outfits.

You may want to bring in a sentimental necklace for some of the shots. I would recommend taking off your necklace for lying down poses though.

Finally, my favorite accessory, bring along your highest of high heels as they’ll lengthen your legs to get you the best shots!

Prepping for your session

Now that you know what to bring along, here’s some advice on what to do beforehand to really shine during your session.

Starting one week before your session, be sure that you are exfoliating as smooth, pretty skin is very important in boudoir photos.

Speaking of skin, if you are a waxer, go several days to a week before your session to avoid bumpy, irritated skin.

Also, one week prior, be sure your hair is photo-ready with a fresh trim. Don’t do anything drastic though. You look and feel your best when you look like yourself!

The 24 hours before your session, go ahead and get that last spray tan. I only recommend this for brides who have tested spray tanning before though.

The morning of your session

The morning of your session, be sure to drink a lot of water and eat a light breakfast or lunch so that you have the energy for those beautiful poses. Be sure to shower to wash off any excess spray tan to get your tan looking perfect and natural.

Come to your session with a clean face and hair and loose clothing to avoid any indentations on your skin.

Last but not least, be sure to bring your outfits and accessories!

Boudoir Album Design: The process

Printing photos is one of those things I’m super passionate about. That’s why I take the boudoir album design process so seriously. I want your album to be one of those things you cherish forever.

Blog post: Boudoir album design: The process. By Boudoir by Tracy Lynn// boudoir album photo//boudoir pose//pink body suit//laying on chaise lounges//laying boudoir pose//sitting boudoir pose//Maddie Moore//See more at boudoirbytracylynn.com/blog

“A photograph doesn’t feel real until it is a tangible physical object I can hold in my hand.” – Stephen Johnson

I’m sure you’ve heard the saying that this generation will be the most photographed generation with no photos to show for it in ten years. I firmly believed that five years ago, but with companies like Social Print Studio making it easy to print directly from Instagram, I feel as though that trend is improving

I am so thankful that people are printing more photos again. It doesn’t even matter if those photos are art. What matters is having those memories later when the kids are grown up, or their grandparents are gone and you want to look back on those images.

Printing Stats

Here are two stats about printing photos that I found interesting.

  • It’s estimated that less than 1 out of 100,000 photographs taken today actually ends up being a printed photograph.
  • It’s been estimated that in the past 5 years, more photos have been taken than all the prior years combined.

I’m going to play devil’s advocate here though. Honestly, a good percentage of the photos taken don’t need to be printed. They’re probably Snapchat photos with goofy faces or photos of food, or something else not necessarily worthy of being printed.

photo of daughter with dad and grandpa//see more at boudoirbytracylynn.com/blog

But there are things that are worth printing. Your wedding photos for one. Or the photo of your child with his/her grandma that may not be here next week. The photo of your husband holding your baby for the very first time. Things that are important.

Things like the boudoir album design I so meticulously planned out after your boudoir session. The one you worked so hard to prep for. Your boudoir session deserves more than being saved on your phone, where you could lose it next week.

Ordering session process

Lot’s of client’s ask about the ordering session process. It’s super simple on your part. We meet online via Zoom after I have gone through the images.

You’ll end up seeing between 60-120 images and we will go through them one by one until we narrow it down to your very favorite images. This can take between 30 minutes and 2 hours. However long it takes until we have the exact album you dreamed!

Boudoir album design process

After the ordering session, I send the photos off to my retoucher. She’s AMAZING. Once they come back, I sit down at my computer and review them myself to make sure they are up to my standards.

Once I have approved them I start the boudoir album design process! I have a very specific style with my albums, which you can view in the gallery section of my website.

Outfit, certain poses, specific sets, and the mood or vibe all play a role in how the album is set up. I prefer sexy/serious on the same spread and then playful flirty in a separate spread. It’s better to have the same or similar outfits on one spread than to have the outfits all over the place in the album.

Why? Because the album tells a story!

Delivery

One important thing to know about my brand is that my turnaround time is very quick. You’ll mostly likely have your album in your hands with in 3-6 weeks, depending on what you order.

Quick turnaround time is very important to me. We live in a time of instant gratification after all.

Conclusion

“Photography helps people to see.” – Berenice Abbott

Although it’s time-consuming and seems unimportant at the time, I want to encourage you to print your phone photos. That’s what you are using every day. I know that. You know that. You won’t want to lose those important moments because you were too lazy to take a few minutes to order them. While you’re at it, back those photos up in several places as well.

That goes for your boudoir photos too. I highly recommend letting me design and order your boudoir album. But back up the digital files that come with your album, also!

STL Wedding Dress: 3 shops you want to check out

Most brides purchase their wedding dress eleven months before their wedding. Have you started looking yet? If not, I have some great suggestions for your STL wedding dress purchase.

And no it’s not clearance racks, Monica.

Weird facts about wedding dresses

I thought this would be a fun and interesting thing to research and I wasn’t disappointed.

  • 1.85 miles: The length of the world’s longest wedding gown train. I may not be happy if you bring that kind of train to your boudoir session and expect me to photograph it.
  • The average price of a wedding dress is $1,564.
  • 18% of brides buy their dresses online(I’m not sure I could do that).
  • 14% of brides show the groom their dress before the wedding.

I don’t think I would want to show my groom my wedding dress. Save those emotions for the wedding day. I mean look at Chandler. Would you want to miss out on that?

Tasteful Boudoir: Why, How, Where, and When?

The first time I had ever heard of boudoir photography was when I started photographing clients. Seriously, I had no idea what it was before then. I was super sheltered growing up, by the way. My first thought was there’s no way that someone can shoot tasteful boudoir photos. And then my parents will never understand when I tell them what I am doing!

Honestly, I still don’t think my parents understand, but they are a bit old school. Also, it’s 2019 and I am a grown woman and can photograph what I want. 💁🏼‍♀️

The important thing to me is showing women their true beauty in a beautiful, classy, and tasteful way in a time when all we are seeing is overly filtered photos on social media.

“A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.” -Coco Chanel

So, today, I want to talk to you about common boudoir misconceptions, prepping for a session, what a session with me is like, and when to have and why you SHOULD book a boudoir session. We have a lot to cover. ☺️

Boudoir misconceptions

Have you said any of these things to yourself?

  • I’m not pretty or sexy enough for a boudoir session.
  • Only models are photographed like that.
  • That photo HAS to be a model.
  • I won’t be able to get the expression for a boudoir session.
  • Boudoir photos are not classy or tasteful.

I’m here to prove you wrong on every item on that list today. Although, I do photograph SOME STL influencers(Maddie, Vi, Gillian), my every day clients and women on my social media and in my portfolio, are normal women who have never been in front of a camera before. With great posing, beautiful lighting, good expression, and the right clothes, every woman can look like a classy model in her tasteful boudoir images.

Prepping for a classy and tasteful boudoir session

It’s very important to prep well for a boudoir session. By that I mean bring great outfits, get a spray tan, and trust my hair and makeup artists.

“Simplicity is the ultimate form of sophistication.” -Leonardo da Vinci

You can read more about what to wear in this blog post, but the main points are listed below.

  • Correctly fitted underwear. Cheeky or thongs that are one size above what you normally wear to prevent skin indentions.
  • Bring a few bra and panty sets so that we have plenty to choose from. Lace is always better. It looks classy/tasteful and makes you feel beautiful.
  • 1-2 Bodysuits. They are good to help you get comfortable in front of the camera while still feeling sexy. It’s important to have thong or cheeky bodysuits to make your booty look its best.
  • Either an off the shoulder sweater or a robe that you feel sexy in. Make sure the sweater isn’t bulky or it won’t photograph well.
  • Bring one of your man’s button up shirts. He will love these photos the most!
  • Super high heels. They will lengthen your legs and you will love the photos in them.

Spray tan

Are you one of the unlucky fair complected women like me? Or if you just have an uneven tan, try Just Fakin Tans. She is my go-to for the perfect tan that will have your skin glowing during your boudoir session.

Hair and makeup

My hair and makeup artists are in the studio before your session to help you relax. The girls will help you feel beautiful, relaxed, and pampered before your session, and they can help you achieve the look you want. Be sure to come in with some ideas prior to your session as well. Need some inspiration? Check out my Pinterest boards.

Leave the posing and expression to me

The one thing you don’t have to worry about is the actual session. As long as you bring the perfect outfits as I mentioned above, you will have a beautiful, classy, and tasteful boudoir session full of gorgeous pictures for your album.

I have “ice breaker poses” that we photograph during the first set of poses. These poses were carefully designed to help you get super comfortable in front of the camera. Once we finish these and you see a few back of the camera shots, you will be 100% confident in your sexiness, and my ability to help you achieve the session of your dreams.

He will love it

I promise you, when he sees these tasteful boudoir photos, he is going to flip out. It will be worth the worry and nerves you feel before the session when you see his reaction. And to top it off, you will feel like the most beautiful woman in the world!

When should you have a tasteful boudoir session photographed?

Is this for a gift? If so, I would recommend no later than 2 months before you want to give him the album. My turn around time is super fast though, so you can contact me if you have a quick deadline.

But honestly, the perfect time for a session is right now. It will change your life and your view about yourself, and let’s face it we all need that. It’s 2019 and social media is full of overly filtered photos that can wreck our confidence when we see our unfiltered selves.

Conclusion

Now, back to when I started my career in boudoir photography. My goal was to photograph women in a classy way through tasteful boudoir photography. Over the years, I feel like I have been able to achieve this by educating clients on what to wear and how to prep for tasteful boudoir photos.

Good lighting and posing combined with helping clients get the right expression also helps to achieve the tasteful boudoir photos I wanted to create, photos that not only will your man love, but will make you feel like the gorgeous woman you are.

The perfect time to schedule a session is now. I promise you won’t regret it.

I’d love to talk to you through a consult, which you can schedule here.

St. Louis Boudoir Session- Why’s it worth it?

A St. Louis boudoir photography session can change your life. I know you expect me to say that right?

It’s so true though.

st. louis boudoir session// confidence// behind the scene photo// see more at boudoirbytracylynn.com

A client posted this to her story following her boudoir session. “This weekend I did something I never would have done at this time last year. I gained some confidence in my own skin. Thank you @boudoir_by_tracy_lynn for the best time.”

So, what I want to talk about is how a session with me is different than anything else you have experienced and a gift you deserve.

A St. Louis boudoir session can make you feel empowered, confident, and beautiful.

The definition of empower is to give someone official authority or the freedom to do something.

With a boudoir session you are getting the freedom to feel beautiful and confident in your own body.

The natural progression of a boudoir session is being self-conscious at first and then relatively quickly shedding clothes and walking around topless in the studio. The confidence one gains in one session is crazy and amazing.

I’ve had so many clients reach out to me right after the session, before even seeing their images, just to let me know how the experience helped them feel more beautiful the way they are.

The emotional roller coaster of a boudoir session

When you first contact me about your boudoir session, you will be nervous, but excited. Once it’s booked, you will be even more nervous. Nerves are normal!

At the session, you are going to be nervous and self conscious at first. I have designed my first 4 poses specifically to help you get more comfortable in front of the camera. We choose a specific outfit that’s easy to pose in, but you are still covered so that your self consciousness won’t show. These poses are great for EVERY body type, and once I show you a few back of the camera images, you will notice your confidence get higher.

boudoir photo// st. louis boudoir photo// black body suit// laying on back pose// photo by Boudoir by Tracy Lynn// See more at boudoirbytracylynn.com

By the last couple of outfits, you will be walking around topless because your nervousness has disappeared, and you are feeling super confident in your own skin. As you leave, it’s like an emotional high and you want to savor it all. day. long.

At the ordering session and then later at the delivery, you will feel a range of emotions. You get to ride that high of the session day again. I’ve had clients cry because they have never seen themselves this beautiful. It’s an emotional experience but something every woman in the world should feel.

What clients have said about their session

Sarah said

“My husband absolutely loved the album…. He loves the different poses and that I looked natural and myself… I’m super happy he loved them but let’s be honest I literally can’t stop going through them! I’m so happy I did the photo shoot and loved every minute! Hopefully I’ll be able to do it again someday, maybe for a maternity shoot. Thank you so much for your professionalism and just for being a genuinely nice person! You made everything so easy and relaxed. I’ve been telling all my friends they need to do it!

“Tracy made me feel so comfortable in my own skin and the outcome was more than I could have asked for.The ordering session was great, being able to see myself through her lens in a way I had never looked at myself before. For the first time in our relationship, I know how he sees me. I have never felt more beautiful and confident in myself. The best part of this experience was that when the album was given to my boyfriend, he told me that he loved it but the real gift was how it made me feel. He saw the confidence that it gave me and he said I was glowing now.”

“Tracy has a calm, reassuring aura about her that instantly put me at ease. Tracy produce beautiful work. She personifies professionalism. I am extremely grateful for Tracy and her talent. She captured me in ways I hadn’t seen myself before. It has done wonders for my self confidence. After my photo shoot with Tracy, I left her studio feeling BEAUTIFUL AND CONFIDENT- two words that I never thought I’d use to describe myself. I have a BEAUTIFUL album and wall portraits to document this chapter of my life, and I made a friend :)”

The things most are worried about St. Louis Boudoir session and why they avoid scheduling.

Posing. Don’t worry girl. I have you 100% covered. I will pose you from head to toe, including getting the expression out of you that we want for these photos. Not once, but multiple times, I have studied with literally one of the best photographers IN THE WORLD, Jerry Ghionis. Plus I have shot 400+ sessions just since I have been in STL. I know lighting, posing for body types, expression, and how to get it out of you. You’re safe with me.

Feeling comfortable in front of the camera. Honestly, you won’t at first, but like I said above, I have designed specific poses to help you get comfortable super quickly. You’ll be fine after that first set!

Feeling comfortable with no clothes on. My studio is a judgement free zone. And guess what. We all have cellulite, weird scars, and things we are self-conscious about. By the end of the session, you will be walking around the studio topless. I guarantee it.

One last thing.

Remember the client I started this post off with? After her St. Louis Boudoir session, she felt so confident in her photos, she posted them on Instagram! That’s like the ultimate compliment to me.

Here’s what she wrote.

“So a few weeks ago, I did something completely out of my comfort zone. Primarily, this shoot was used as a wedding present for _____ but the other part was for me. I wanted to do this as something that made me proud of my body, the weight I had lost, and the confidence I’ve gained. I recommend this to EVERY SINGLE woman I know. I saw this picture and couldn’t believe it was me. i’ve come a long way in the last year. I love my body. I love the strength it gives me every day to get out of bed. I love how it has changed over time. Thank you @boudoir_by_tracy_lynn for these tasteful pictures and for allowing me to see myself for my worth. St. Louis friends, use her if you need a boost of confidence or need a great gift for your partner.”

A Real Maternity Boudoir Session– Megan/ St Louis

What I love about my job is helping my clients celebrate themselves and their bodies. It can be so difficult for women to appreciate their bodies and all the wonderful things it can do. While I love working behind the camera, what I really love is bringing helping my clients realize their beauty, just as they are! This is why today I’m writing about my recent maternity boudoir session with Megan. Yes ladies, you CAN get a maternity boudoir session in St Louis!

When you think about it, pregnancy is really beautiful–though pregnant women may not feel especially beautiful. Women are only pregnant at certain times in their lives. This is not an everyday occurrence, which is why my maternity boudoir session with Megan was so amazing! We could capture this special moment in time and shed a gorgeous light on pregnancy– though pregnancy may not always feel so glamorous. Beautiful belly and all, we captured some ethereal shots with her long, flowy red hair and equally flowy gowns.

Megan’s Second Session

Megan was part of my first Girls Day Out shoot this past spring partying in the studio, bachelorette style! Shortly afterwards, she found out some exciting news. Low and behold, they were expecting a little girl! Megan is one of fitness guru Gillian Becker’s girls. Megan works out regularly with momshells.com– EVEN WHILE PREGNANT. If only I had that much drive for working out.

Megan was kind enough to come to the studio for a maternity boudoir shoot! She has such gorgeous red hair, exquisite skin and bone structure– not to mention, the CUTEST pregnant belly! We caught a glimpse of pregnancy that is so fleeting, which is why I love photography, especially maternity sessions.

STL Boudoir Session about Self Love

Jamie came in for a session with her best friends for a fun girls day stl boudoir session a few months ago. I met with them about 3 weeks prior to her session for a consult where we discussed outfits and what she was wanting to get out of her session.

The Consult

This session for Jamie and her friends was all about learning to love themselves as they are. During the consult, we discussed what to wear in depth to flatter each girl as they all had very different body types and styles. To feel comfortable during the actual photography session, it’s so important to wear the right outfits and feel like yourself!

Jamie’s STL Boudoir Session

As I mentioned above, this was a girl’s day session, but during these sessions, each client still gets a full session with me individually. Jamie started in a sporty Victoria’s Secret bra and panty set that matched her style, then we changed into her black lace bralette with strappy black cheeky underwear. This outfit was very flattering for her body type!

Jamie is sporty but girly, which I love about her so much because I can relate! After she was feeling more comfortable, she changed into this off the shoulder white tee with converse. I prefer waiting until the third or fourth outfit for tee shirts or sweaters. By the third outfit, you are usually feeling sexier so the outfit works really well!

Jamie wore a lace bralette and super strappy underwear with black stilettos for her fourth outfit and we ended the session in the white sheets.

Seeing the photos

Jamie and her friends came back to the studio the week following their STL boudoir session for the ordering appointment. After telling me how sore they were the day after their session, we went through the photos one by one. This day was emotional. Each girl was so excited about her photos and couldn’t believe the beautiful woman in the images was actually her. They each learned to love and accept “flaws” as a beautiful part of her body. One of the girls mentioned how much she now loves her stretch marks from pregnancy. She GREW A HUMAN. She deserves those battle scars.

I love this “job”

The results of that ordering session reminded me this is why I chose this career. Last year was a huge change in my life and at one point I could tell I was getting burned out. This ordering session and their STL boudoir session was exactly what I needed at exactly the right time, so I am very thankful for Jamie and her girls.

Have you thought about a boudoir session?

Have you thought about a session for either self love or even for a gift for your man? It’s such a great experience for yourself and even better you will have something to look back through to remember the feeling.

Before Jamie even had her album in her hand, she had already booked her second session with me. She emailed me right after telling me how thankful she was for the session and how obsessed she is with the photos! I can’t wait for her next session!

Wedding Day Timeline//STL

A lot of my clients are brides who’ve recently gotten engaged. By the way, congratulations.  Little known fact, I use to photograph weddings.  I thought it would be good to discuss a wedding day timeline so you kind of have an overview of how the day may go.

wedding day timeline//black lace// implied nude//tan hat//chaise lounge// see more at boudoirbytracylynn.com

First things first.

I recommend having your wedding planner and your wedding photographer help refine your timeline. They will know the time they need and the small details right now, though, you just need an overview of how the day will likely go so you can start making the bigger wedding day decisions.  That’s the purpose of this blog!

wedding day timeline//white lace// implied nude//veil//reflection boudoir photo// see more at boudoirbytracylynn.com

Wedding Day Timeline

Let’s say your ceremony starts at 5:30 during the month of May and it’s a 30 minute ceremony.  You will plan the rest of your wedding day around that start time. This is based on 10 hour wedding day coverage for the photographer.

  • 1:30 Photographer arrives
    • Hair and makeup done and the bride ready to get dressed.
    • Detail shots of the dress, shoes, rings, etc.
  • 2:00 Grooms/ Groomsmen portraits and getting ready photos.
  • 2:30 Bride gets dressed.
    • The bridesmaids are dressed and ready to be in the background of the photos
  • 3:00 Bride and Groom wedding day gift exchange.
  • 3:30 Bridal Portraits
  • 3:45 Bridesmaids Photos
  • 4:00 First Look
  • 4:10 Bride and Groom Photos
  • 4:40-5:15 Wedding Party and Family Photos
  • 5:30 Ceremony
  • 6:15 Cocktail hour
  • 7:00- sunset photos
  • 7:15 Dinner
  • 7:30 Grand entrance and First Dance
  • 7:40 Welcome toasts and dinner
  • 8:30 Bridal Party Toasts
  • 8:45 Parent Dances
  • 9:15 Cake cutting/Bouquet Toss/Garter Toss
  • 9:30 Open Dance Floor
  • 11:30 Grand Exit

Things to Change

Obviously, there are a lot of things that can change in the timeline.  I definitely recommend adding buffer time to be sure you don’t run late throughout the wedding day. Depending on the time of the year, you may need to adjust the time of day as far as sunset photos, and the ceremony.  All of these are things to discuss with your wedding planner and your photographer. They will help you make the best decisions to be sure your day is absolutely perfect!

Valentine’s Day Boudoir Session

I mentioned booking back in early December that Valentine’s day is quickly approaching! If you want to schedule your session with time to gift it to your man, your session needs to be scheduled by January 22, 2019.

The Valentine’s gift for him is also for you!

I want you to understand that although the album that results from this session will ultimately be in his hands, this is a gift for you.  So many of my clients’ lives have changed after having a boudoir session with Boudoir by Tracy Lynn. Here are a few reviews below:

“I just want to say that Tracy totally blew my expectations out of the water with my album. I seriously cannot stop looking at it. It makes me feel so confident and sexy and I can’t wait to give it to my fiancé at our wedding on Saturday.  ❤️❤️❤️”

                                                              – Maddie

P.s. Join my private Facebook group to see Maddie’s husband opening the boudoir album. So cute.

“Hi Tracy,
We are back from our honeymoon! Mark absolutely loved the album. He didn’t know what to expect really and was impressed by how professional they turned out. My new husband loved the different poses and that I looked natural and like myself. He also appreciated the album with the two pictures. It’s currently on his nightstand!
I’m super happy he loved them, but let’s be honest I literally can’t stop going through them! I’m so happy I did the photo shoot and I loved every minute! Hopefully, I’ll be able to do it again someday maybe for a maternity shoot. Thank you so much for your professionalism and for being a genuinely nice person! You made everything so easy and relaxed. I’ve been telling all my friends they need to do it!”

He will love it though. Especially your new found confidence.

I mean what guy wouldn’t want  sexy photos of the woman he loves? It’s seriously the perfect Valentine’s Day gift.

“The morning of my session, my significant other watched me run around the house preparing everything I needed for his birthday gift. On the way to the shoot, he took my hand and told me not to be nervous and that he hopes the photos show me how he sees me every day.

I judge myself harshly and don’t take compliments well, but Tracy made me feel comfortable in my own skin. The outcome was more than I could have asked, and I’ve never felt more beautiful and confident.

The best part of this experience was when the album was given to my boyfriend, he told me that he loved it. The real gift, though, was how it made me feel. He saw the confidence it gave me, and said I was glowing now.

It’s amazing how a photo session can change your whole life. The session inspired me to work towards becoming a personal trainer and a fitness model. All of this is because Tracy gave me confidence through something that wasn’t supposed to be about me at all.

Thank you so much for changing my life and showing me that it’s not about all the little things that I see as flaws. It’s about how beautiful I am as a whole and how it makes me unique.”

                                                             – Heather.
