Saint Louis Boudoir Photo Prep

You did it, you booked your boudoir session! Yay! I’m sure you’re excited, yet nervous. And that’s okay because it’s very normal to feel this way! I’m here to help you with your boudoir photo prep.
Being in front of the camera can be intimidating since the camera shows all of your flaws. Thank goodness for a photographer who knows her lighting, posing, and retouching, right? I got you! 🙂

There are several things you can do to make sure you look and feel your best on the day of your session. Let’s talk about eating, drinking, and skin care!
Eating
Leading up to your session, I recommend staying away from processed, sugary, and greasy foods.
Why? Well, because these foods lead to breakouts and typically cause bloating. Foods high in sodium cause water retention, so definitely try to avoid these.
But even if you feel bloated, I promise it’s not going to show in photos. The thing is, though, you FEEL sexier if you aren’t bloated from food, so let’s just prevent it from happening.
One more thing… Remember to eat something light and healthy before your session, even if it’s just a snack.
Drinking
Drink plenty of water. Say no to sugary, carbonated drinks as much as possible.
And most importantly, stay hydrated!
Did I mention water? It’s so important because it flushes out toxins and will give you glowing skin.
Water is your friend. Water for the win! Ha!
Funny story. I actually annoy Tome and the rest of my family because any time they even mention something hurting, like a headache, the first thing I say is have you drank enough water???
Skin Care
Stick to your routine! Hold off on trying that new product line or getting Botox the week of your session.
Also, don’t forget to moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! Moisturizing will leave your skin looking healthy, hydrated, and camera ready.
I got ya covered though.
Not to worry, though, if you aren’t able to follow any of these recommendations because I get it. Life happens.
Thankfully, retouching, posing, and lighting will hide anything we may need to hide.
Doing a little preparation just ensures you’re ready to rock your session with confidence. Most of all though, I am so excited to meet you and photograph this special time in your life.
Haven’t booked yet, but you’re ready??
Yay! Email me and let’s chat about your dream session!
