I may not live in STL anymore, but I do know some great Saint Louis Hair Salons that many of my clients use.   And if you’re anything like me, you’re probably struggling right now since they are all closed.

Even with my balayage hair color, I still get my roots retouched every 5-6 weeks without fail. Even though we travel all year, I ALWAYS find a salon.  So this Covid-19 stay at home order, which caused non-essential businesses to close indefinitely, is really hurting my self care.

Last week, I talked about my alternatives for lash extensions and nail salons, so this week I wanted to highlight a few alternatives for hair care.

Saint Louis Hair Salons

Thankfully, a lot of Saint Louis hair salons came up with ways for those of us who require maintenance to help our color last until the stay at home order is lifted.

Most are offering pre-mixed professional color for at home root touch ups. It’s not the same as having it done professionally, but it gets us through until we can see our stylist right?

Whatever you do, DON’T use box dye.  Just don’t. I was tempted, When the salon here in Houston that I’ve been going to offered the pre-mixed professional color, I was so thankful that I didn’t have to break down and use it!

Vanity Noir a Saint Louis Hair Salon

Vanity Noir in Saint Peters, MO offers a Root Touchup Kit for anyone(not just her current clients) that includes color, developer, gloves, bowl, and a brush.  She also includes VERY specific instructions and a video, so you know exactly how to apply the color.

She also offers Maintenance/Refresh kits. This is shampoo, conditioner, and/or mask. She can create color refreshers, at home “toners”, etc.  There are multiple lines to choose from so it fits most hair/color. If you don’t already use this then she helps you choose and creates a customized formulation of the pigments to help maintain and refresh your color.

The easiest way to get in touch with Abbi is texting.  Here’s her number: (314)974-4174 or through her website at this link.

Buy Local!

I know it’s tempting to buy the grocery store shampoo and conditioner because it’s more convenient or the box color.  We all know it’s not good for your hair though.

Plus a lot of local businesses are struggling with the stay at home order. So support local and buy from a Saint Louis hair salon.
