The Best St. Louis Wedding Cake

I was googling St. Louis wedding cake the other day. Why? Research for this blog post… supposedly.
Not because I love cake. Just kidding. Side note- I make(what I think is) the best homemade chocolate cake with homemade cream cheese icing on it. I haven’t made it in a while though because I’d eat the entire thing myself.
I know I have talked about how I photographed weddings before I became exclusively a boudoir photographer. Guess what my favorite part of the entire wedding was? The cake. Obviously I didn’t love weddings that much.
A few years ago, when I first moved to St. Louis, I was part of a networking group of women entrepreneurs, mostly in the wedding industry. One of the business owners was Heidi, who owns De la Creme Studios in St. Louis. That’s who I want to introduce you to today.

St. Louis Wedding Cake Options
There are so many different St. Louis wedding cake bakery options. I love to browse on Instagram or Pinterest for St. Louis wedding vendors, just because I like to have recommendations for my clients, so I have seen several of the choices in STL.
While the cake may not make or break how memorable your wedding day is, having a beautiful cake certainly won’t hurt! De la Creme is by far one of the top wedding cake bakery studios in the city. Her attention to detail is incredible. The way each cake is designed seriously blows my mind!
De La Creme Studios
De la Creme has a clean, contemporary style inspired by art, fashion and a love for incorporating beautiful details and rich textures. They treat each cake as its own unique masterpiece—a perfect fusion of their taste and your individual style.
With a background in art and design, owner and cake artist Heidi Holmon brings unique talent to the cake world that leaves her clients “wowed by her crazy skills.” Heidi has over fifteen years of design experience, an eye for timeless style, and a passion for color, form, and texture, which she put to work every day creating stunning pieces.
“Give me a canvas, any canvas, and I will create something beautiful on it (because I’m an artist first and foremost). Whether it’s cake artistry, photography, or design, I love creating things with beautiful details.” —Heidi Holmon

Prepping for your cake designer
There are some things you should prepare/research before you even book a meeting with your cake designer of course.
- How many are you expecting? You need to know what size of cake you will need to order of course.
- Date of the wedding- obviously. De la Creme can book up months in advance during wedding season, so book early!
- Some sort of design idea. As stated above, Heidi is definitely an artist, but having some direction will help you both in the design process!
- An idea on flavor. It’s your wedding day! Be sure to get what you want.
Not a bride? De la Creme makes celebration cakes too!

I know this blog post was directed towards brides, but don’t worry, celebration cakes are an option as well. Whether it’s for your child’s first birthday, an engagement party, a graduation party, or maybe even your dirty thirty birthday party, Heidi can design and bake the cake of your dreams!
Anyway…
De la Creme Studio’s is THE St. Louis wedding cake bakery to use for your wedding. Be sure that you contact her early, because she does book up months in advance for weddings. When you book, be sure you know how many you are expecting, the date of the wedding, and some sort of cake design idea!
I want that Louis Vuitton Cake just because it’s awesome.
